My name is Baoku Moses (Baoku means "HOPE"). I say and HOPE for everything that is good & positive. I write and perform a style of music called Afro-beat. I welcome you in the name of peace, love and unity as you read more about me and continue to know me more. A little about me is that I am a multi talented African performing artiste and Afro beat musician. I am also an accomplished African drummer, dancer, singer, songwriter, composer, performer and a teacher (I teach African drumming and dance). I am currently based in Cincinnati, Ohio where I perform with my band "The Image Afro-beat Band. Cincinnati-based African musician Baoku Moses (pictured) presents his fourth “Cincy Unity Jam” Saturday at downtown’s Blue Wisp Jazz Club.

This installment of the quad-annual event — organized as a means to “bring people together to celebrate peace in unity through music and art” — features a wildly eclectic lineup of 12 performers, playing everything from Rock, Jazz, R&B and Hip Hop to Reggae, Celtic, Gospel and AfroBeat. Artists slated to appear include and the Chris Comer Trio, iolite, The Electric Generals, Drew Lewis, Tri-Ur, Bonkers, Black Silk Quartet and Baoku’s Ensemble for Peace.
